Hello !
Here are my stair designs from this last week :
Inquisitive-Rustic [I]
The number of steps reduces with each successive landing, like a countdown ..
The "rustic" stair is inspired by a beanstalk (this could also work for "inquisitive")
Inquisitive-Rustic [II]
I was inspired by a "hanging" stair featured in last week's lecture. Some of the treads here hang from the ceiling whilst the others are supported from a vertical beam from the floor.
The rustic stair is inspired by Carlo Scarpa's work - I've tried to incorporate steps of different lengths.
Inquisitive-Sponge [I]
With the inquisitive stairs I had been thinking of puzzles and tessellations. Part of the odd numbered treads should slope up to the even numbered treads and so on ..
Sponge stairs may be a little too literal.
Inquisitive-Sponge [II]
In the inquisitive stairs, I thought about concealing most of the stairs with a wall - however we are given a narrow view of the treads. This means we have to wait for the person to arrive at the bottom of the stairs so that we can identify them !
What are your thoughts? Please feel free to leave a message below!
Hi ginny choose stairs that marries well with the forms you're exploring. Inquisive 1 and rustic 2.?
